Fred & Desi Schmidt
Fred and Desiree Schmidt serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship, whose purpose is to see people in remote places changed by the love of Christ by serving together to bring help, hope, and healing through aviation. Fred and Desi have served as a pilot/mechanic family in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Ecuador, and Indonesia since 1984. They have four children, all married, the oldest of whom, Tyler, with his wife Renae and children, are also serving with MAF in Indonesia. Trevor, Kristen, and family live in Boise, working as a physical therapist. The third-born, a daughter, Danica, with her husband Adrian, are with the Airforce in Nebraska. Their youngest son, Kyle and his wife Janna, with their new baby, live and work in Fargo, North Dakota. Fred and Desiree are stepping into a new role within MAF of mentoring/coaching young people on track for serving in missions through aviation. Desiree will also be using her training as an educational coach to help MAF missionary kids overseas with learning struggles.
