Small Groups
Riverside Community Church believes small groups are the foundation of the church community. They exist to help us love God by loving others, thrive in our walks with the Lord and to focus on reaching out to those who don't know Jesus.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others” -2 Timothy 2:2
Small groups encourage the body to take responsibility for one another. It is this bond of relationships that builds trust so that the body can work for the glory of God. The small group should be the hand of service, held together by the strong bonds of lives abiding in Christ, a group of believers who are fully vested both in each other and in the common goal of spreading the Good News of the Gospel.
- Foster ongoing spiritual growth
- Create an active Christian community that leads by example of service, love, compassion, truth, and honesty
- Connect those who are new to the church and/or faith
- Build relationships and trust
- Seek out ways to serve one another
- Provide opportunity for mentorships
- Allow for intergenerational meetings so that people of all ages and life experiences can learn from each other
- Help insure that all members of the body are known and taken care of
- Spread the Gospel
